About

Kate is a composer from Stirlingshire whose music explores perceptions of aural diversity. She likes to focus in on tiny moments of connection, misconnection and sensory friction, and to interrogate or express them musically.
She is soon to complete a PhD at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland – studying with Emily Doolittle and Alistair MacDonald, having previously studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music and Morley College, historical musicology at Goldsmiths and history at Oxford.
She is mostly interested in how other people describe how they hear the world.
